  • Welcome to the 2nd half of the Spring term

    We've got our J6 students finishing their large-scale portraits and our Year 7 students continuing with their furnishing designs. Our year 8 students will complete the "Fragmentation" project and Year 9 will look to round off the "Pop Art" work. In Year 10, the group will embark on a Main Piece in the "linear" project. In Year 11 and 13 students are working their way through their respective Externally Set Tasks. Challonerart looks forward to some exciting results.

  • Year 9 and Year 10 at Tate Modern

    The end of the half term saw our Year 9 trip to Tate Modern. Students loved looking for images inspired by the principles of Pop Art and for Sculptures. Our lovely Year 10 students made some terrific work on linear art.

  • Welcome to the Spring term

    Welcome back to all our students for the second full term in the Art Dept. This is a busy period for us. Year 13 students are embarking on their externally set task and will be compiling their final coursework portfolios and Year 11 students are also starting their externally set tasks and finalising their coursework projects. Year 10 students will complete their first GCSE Main Pieces and start their exciting new project. In Key Stage 3 our Year 9 students will embark on a terrific project about Pop Art portraits which will include a trip to Tate Modern and Year 8 will start an interesting theme on "Fragmentation". Year 7 will complete their "Face" project and begin a project about that investigates fabric designs and Year 6 make a start on a wonderful project about the human form. Challonerart looks forward to everyone's endeavours.

  • Welcome to the new term

    Welcome back to all our students. This is a busy term in the Art Department. Year 13 students are making their Main Pieces in their final coursework project and Year 11 students are also starting a Main Piece in their Mock Exam. Year 10 students will begin their first GCSE Main Piece. In Key Stage 3 our Year 9 students will embark on a great project about machines that ends with collaborative Main Pieces and Year 8 will start an interesting theme using text and typography together with images. Year 7 are starting a project about portraiture and Year 6 will continue with their studies on the repeated pattern.
