Wk 2; Look at the pictures by Mary Fedden in this link.

Choose one of them and make a copy of it in colour on half of page 1 in your sketchbook. Using your vocabulary sheet, write two comments about her work.

Wk 30 - On one half of Page 27, draw a map of the area around your home. Include roads, trees, gardens, rooftops, architectural features and street furniture. See here for ideas:

Wk 28 On P26, draw a pair of scissors - try to capture the full tonal effect to achieve a sense of 3-D

Week 3 On half of page 1, draw a sphere, a cube and a pyramid. Use shadow and shade to make them appear  3-dimensional. Use a range of shading.

Wk 1 On half of page 1 of your sketchbook, draw 6 frames and fill each with a different type of shading. Look at this example for inspiration.

Wk 5 - On p4 of your sketchbook, write an evaluation of your Composition project. 1. Write about the artists you looked at. 2. Write about the Preparation and Development of your project. 3. Write about drawing your composition 4. Write a self-assessment. See the outline given in class here

Wk 9 Find a portrait by Tamara Madden in this link:                            Make a copy of it on half of p7 of your sketchbook. By the side, write the artist's name, the title of the piece and date it was made. Use the vocabulary sheet to describe the work in two sentences. This is due in your next lesson

Wk 7 On half of P6, draw an eye. Use pencil only. Use a full range of shading. Look at your own eye, someone else's or a photograph of an eye. Look at this tutorial to help you

Wk 8. On page 9 of your sketchbook skech two ideas for a Main Piece in the Face project. They should be in colour and annotated.

Week 11: find a portrait by a well-known artist & make a copy of it

Week 10  Find a portrait by the well-known artist Julian Opie & make a copy of it on half of page 7 of your sketchbook. By the side you must write the artist's name and add two comments about the work using your vocabulary sheet: look here for examples

Wk15 On Page 11, write an evaluation about your Face project following the guidance. You should cover all aspects of the work; the prep sheet, the eye painting & homework, explaining the processes & making an assessment of successes. Have a look at the evaluation outline

Week 12  Draw a tonal ladder as shown in class. Use 5 sections. Make the shading even.Draw it on half of page 13 of your sketchbook. Extension. Make a colour version of a tonal ladder. Use 5 tones of the same colour. See here for an example:

Wk 16 Find a fabric or wallpaper design by the British designer Althea McNish. On half of page 16 of your sketchbook, make an accurate copy of it. Underneath write the artist's name, the title of the piece and the date it was made. Use the vocabulary sheet to describe the work in 2 or 3 sentences. See the work of Althea McNish here.

Wk 21  Find some abstract paintings that you like on the link :                                                  On half of page 20 of your sketchbook draw a frame and inside it make your own abstract design based on your choices. Write an explanation of your  picture by the side of it.

Wk 27 - week beginning 4th May

Task one: On the top of one page of your sketchbook, draw a frame and inside the frame copy a picture by artist Hilke MacIntyre. They are quite complicated so you can draw just a section of one.

By the side of the drawing, write her name and three facts about her.

Task two: Catch up week. Complete any tasks from weeks 25 and 26

Task one: On the top of one page of your sketchbook, draw a frame and inside the frame invent your own symbols. Make at least 8.

Task two: look at the image "Map of Days" by Grayson Perry here:

Copy a section of it in a frame on the bottom half of a page in your sketchbook and write the Title "Map of Days" and the name Grayson Perry. No need for information.
