Catch-up week - ensure your sketchbook is up to date including a final main piece idea. This must be evidenced with sketches, notes, studies and compositional, tonal and colour tests.

Wk 30: no set homework this week BUT
ensure you have completed two pages of studies.
On one page of your sketchbook make some studies that plan your third developed piece in the "Me, myself and I" Project. This piece you will make in your test week session.
On a second page, make some sketches and studies for main piece ideas.

Artist Self portrait Research: Find an example of an Artist's self portrait.
Make a copy of at least one self portrait by them and write intelligently about the work. Use their name as a heading.

Artist Research: Look at the self portraits of one of the following artists:
1, Max Beckman, 2, Frida Kahlo, 3, Emma Amos or 4 Vincent van Gogh
Make a copy of at least one self portrait by the artist of your choice and write intelligently about the artist. Use their name as a heading.

Task 1 - take a series of self portrait photographs. Print them and paste them onto page __ of your sketchbook. See this board for help
Task 2 Make a collage of an eye on half of page__ of your sketchbook, See this board for help
Wk 23- Draw an eye on page__ of your sketchbook, after your collages. Use a full range of shading. See this board for help
Wk 22- On a piece of A4 drawing paper, write an evaluation of your Portrait Printing project. Follow these guidelines:
Wk 21- Make a page of 9 collages in your sketchbook.
Wk 20- On page 48 0f your sketchbook, write a description of how to make,
1) a monoprint, 2) a polyprint 3) a lino print.
Add the title "Printing Techniques" at the top
Week 19- No Homework set Catch up with incomplete tasks.
Week 18 - Complete your gridded portrait. Bring the result on Tuesday 21st February -
ALSO - Catch-up week - ensure your sketchbook is up to date. Check the GCSE handbook for guidance.
Week 17 - complete another hour on your portrait - bring the result on Tues 7th Feb
Week 16- Start your gridded portrait. This is the first week of 3. Work for one hour per week. Finish it over half term. Portrait is due on Tuesday 21st February
Week 15 - Task 1 - Using a ballpoint pen, grid up your chosen photograph with 20mm x 20mm squares as shown in class.
Task 2 - On a piece of A4 paper, make a grid of 20mm x 20mm squares the same size as your photograph. Use pencil only.
Week 14- Copy the Japanese Image onto the lino given to you in class. Use pencil. Use line only, no shading
Week 13 - Copy the Image "The Sharecropper" by Elizabeth Catlett onto A4 printer paper. Copy the portrait "Self Portrait" by Max Beckmann onto A4 tracing paper. Due Wednesday 4th January 2023

Week 8 On Page 10, plan a piece of classwork for your next lesson. Make some sketches and add notes. Consider; Surface, Materials, Source, Size
Week 9
Read the GCSE Handbook and complete any unfinished homework tasks.
Week 10 - Design an initial plan for a Main Piece in the Text & Image project. Do this on P11
Week 6
On page 7 draw an object from the kitchen cupboard. A jar, packet or bottle that has lettering on it
On Page 8 plan a piece of classwork for your first lesson after half term. Make some sketches and add notes. Consider; Surface, Materials, Source, Size
Week 7 page 9 paint a packet of crisps.
Week 5
Have a look at the images by Gerald Williams in the link below. Make note of the main components of the pictures, for example, faces, words, phrases and bright colours and on Page 6 of your sketchbook, make your own image or images inspired by what you see.
Week 4
Have a look at the images by William Kentridge on the link below. Make some studies from them in your sketchbook on p5 using pencil and pen. Stick in a background of book pages first. Draw on top of them
Week 3

Week 2: Have a look at the images & artists here
Choose one artist and make a study of them on Page 4 of your sketchbook. You should copy at least two pictures by them and write some information about them. Use any materials. This is due on Tuesday 20th Sept.
Week 1 Complete, refine or improve the summer holiday work.
Summer holiday work;
Number all the pages of your sketchbook.
On Page one, make a title page using the words "Text and Image"
On page 2 of your new sketchbook you should do these two pieces of work;
